The Piffaro Collegium Musicum
Calling all accomplished amateur and pre-professional singers and players of recorders, viols, violins, shawms, dulcians, sackbuts, lutes, harps! Want to spice up your musical life this Fall with a venture into the illustrious musical world of the German Renaissance?
Join the inaugural semester of the newly-established Piffaro Collegium Musicum, coached by Piffaro Artistic Co-directors Bob Wiemken and Joan Kimball!
Study & Perform the vocal and instrumental music of the German cathedrals, towns and courts, including motets, dances, tenorlieder, hymns and more by such composers as Heinrich Isaac, Ludwig Senfl, Heinrich Finck, Paul Hofhaimer, Thomas Stolzer, Roland di Lassus, Caspar Othmayr and Ludwig Daser. Pitch will be A = 440 and period instruments are required. Some instruments may be available for rent.
Here are the pertinent details:
· Eight 2 ½ hour coached rehearsal sessions on Tuesday nights:
September 18, 25
October 2, 16, 23, 30
November 6, 13
· Performance: Saturday, November 17, 2012 at 7:30 pm
· Fee for the semester, includes all sessions, concert and music: $400
· Audition and/or permission of the coaches is required.
