- Settlement Music School, the largest community music school of the arts in the United States with six branches in PA and NJ is currently the largest employer of musicians in the region. Since 1908, Settlement has served over 300,000 students. There is at least one Settlement alumni in every major symphony in the United States. Among its alumni are a Nobel Laureate, a MacArthur Fellow, three Pulitzer Prize winners, two Academy Award winners, several elected officials and many distinguished performers in all genres of music.
