 On Saturday, I saw the HD presentation of Wagner's Die Walküre, which was delayed in starting for more than 30 minutes.  During the first intermission, we found out that the cause for the delay was The Machine, as everyone at the Met calls the monster device developed by the new Ring Cycle’s director, Robert Lepage.  There was some problem with “the encoders” and the technicians were unable to get the computer to interface with the equipment.  After an entire season, they are still fighting…See More
